On September 15th, 2023, eSatya conducted a foundational Blockchain 101 session within the Fellowship program, setting a vital baseline and fostering awareness to provide the fellows with a strong head start. The event was skillfully organized by the eSatya team, under the leadership of Ms. Amina and Ms. Bijaya, and featured Mr. Sarvesh Karkii as the distinguished speaker. There were total of 22 fellows who attended the session virtually.
The session began with a warm welcome to the fellows from Ms. Amina, who then introduced Mr. Karki as the main speaker. Mr. Karki kicked off the session by simplifying the core principles of blockchain technology, shedding light on the transformative shift from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0.
Mr. Karki proceeded to delve into an introduction of Blockchain, along with its practical applications in Nepal, including land registration, supply chain transparency, and identity management. He effectively debunked common misconceptions while emphasizing the importance of data decentralization. Engaging examples of blockchain's impact in Nepal were also shared.
Throughout Mr. Karki's captivating presentation, participants actively contributed with questions and lively discussions in the chat, demonstrating their keen interest in the potential of the blockchain revolution.
